Legal Question in Criminal Law in India
A false cheque bounce case was filed against me by uncle of my husband. My Husband use to do business with his Uncle (Mother in law's brother) and he claimed that my husband cheated him he owes about 14,00,000.00 INR to him. My husband & my mother in Law out of fear forced me to give my cheques as surety to pay him after some time since I am the only one working in my home with a respectable salary. My husband and my mother in law forced and threatened me to give the cheques if not my husband would commit suicide. Out of the fear I just gave blank cheques and promissory notes to my Husband's Uncle. He misused them and gave them to his friend and made him file case against me. the promissory I signed were witnessed by my husband, Mother -in law and my husbands uncle kept signature as third witness before giving those promissory notes to his friend who now filed the case against me. I have been appearing before court from the beginning and finished 251 examination as well. However the complainant is not turning up in front of court except for once.
