Legal Question in Criminal Law in Australia
my friend didn't go to a progress hearing for drug court. He has been told that there is now a warrant for his arrest and he must serve 26 days. He wants to hand himself in but not till after christmas. Is there a way that a hand in date can be arranged so that he is not a wanted man?

Generally, a person in respect of whom and arrest warrant has been issued is liable for arrest at any time; you cannot normally arrange a specific date for surrender and any police officer can arrest a person at any time.
