Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

hello,i am in business.in 2012 i was doing business with partner .that time he given my cheque(Rs.11,500) to his staff written by him.and that cheque so many times bounced by her and after one year i got summons.later on parner seperated from me and i was handling business and i have lost everyting for this business like,money,family piece of mind i suffered lot.he also given lot of problems to me.i have nothing to pay and i am closing my business too.i am in confused and tensed.01/02/2014 is the first hearing and still i not appointed lawyer.please help me regard this.when should i appoint lawyer?what shoud i contest in the court?is ther any chance to case will be my side?i shoul appear before courtor lawyer will handle everything?please help me
