Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

Hoshiarpur police registered a completely false case against me and my family then I approach HIgh court for quashing , High court notice for motion and notice for stay proceeding next date is 09.04.2014 , and high court directions to DGP consider and decide within one month now my question is CAN DGP OF PUNJAB CANCEL THE F.I.R. ? F.I.R. DATED IS 21.02.2014 AND I HAVE COMPLETELY DOCUMENTARY PROOFS & I SENT ALL DOCUMENTS TO DGP OFFICE , CAN DGP OF PUNJAB CANCEL THE F.I.R. ?

well you are a regular in asking question and me in answering. the FIR can be quashed by the highcourt only but the recommendation for cancelling the FIR can be given by the DGP to the court concerned.
