Legal Question in Criminal Law in India
Hi... I have been introduced to a girl via a social networking site by a person stating that she needs my assistance in getting a job. We use to chat online often. This went on for few months & later we spoke over phone as well few a times. Meanwhile, I got engaged, which I couldn't share with her as I was fearing of her weird response to that being known about her suicidal attempts earlier in her life. However, as my marriage date came nearer, I informed about it. She then started blackmailing me to marry her. In the meantime, I learnt about her being fake with me in all the ways; starting from her name, family background, working details, marital status, etc. I also learnt about her being the same girl who trapped one of my close friends in similar way during his marriage time last year. I slapped her with all the relevant details I gathered against her & broke all kinds of contacts with her whatsoever.
Now I am married & settling down in life. But she me has filed a case against me under the acts 420, 509 & may be 508. I want to know the consequences of this case on my personal & professional lives. How I can move ahead in defending the same?
Please suggest....
