petition filed u/s.156(3) before magistrate and order also passed by magistrate to police FOR INVESTIGATION . Now parties entered into compromise in police station during investigation and ready to withdraw complaint given in police station. now without registering FIR , could the police send staus report with compromise statement of parties to court and is it possible for magistrate for closing the petition WITHOUT FIR REGISTRATION.

if no FIR registered the party who has filed the application can withdraw their application.The police will file the status report and case will be closed.
