Legal Question in Criminal Law in Canada
I received a conditional discharge on an assault and an uttering a death threat charge in march of this year, in Ontario. This is my first offence, and I'm on probation for 18 months. I've discovered that there are certain exemptions for convictions regarding entering the US. But I seem to find contradicting opinions on my circumstances. So I would expert opinion on whether on not I am able to travel in the US.

There are conflicting elements at play here, but on the face of things it appears probable that you are not barred from entry. You should consider obtaining a written opinion from a qualified lawyer that you can have available when you cross the border. I have provided such letters to clients in the past.
