Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

Sir, I am a retired Army man. When I retired in Sep 2011 I brought good amount as my pension benefit. One my relative asked me for financial help as he was constructing his house, He is a business man and having a shop and travel agency. I gave him ten lace rupees, payment made as cash as he asked. He given me 100 rupees stamp paper and cheque duly write amount and signed on cheque. Several request made, he returned only two lakhs and now he says when I will have money I will return and also he is a DABANG type man. He says, go anywhere, I don�t have any problem. If you go to Police, firstly everybody know to me, second if any thing will happen no problem I will go two or three months jail. Presently, I am away from my home. I am totally helpless. Please help me and advise what I have to do? If I produce that cheque in bank and case goes to court then what will happen?

if you are scared you cannot protect your right. as an army official you should have more clout with the police. You file a case under sec 138 NIA against him For the civil litigation I will need to see the documents. you may contact me at 9312411481.
