Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

My sister fell into a love trap and since then been in constant suffering and slavery, her husband for most parts was unemployed, abusive and adulterous, my sister's earnings went only towards his expenses, her traditional values and social views prohibited her from abandoning him.
My sister left her child with us(me and my wife) as she could not afford to raise him and not in that environment, he is an adult now and recently placed with an MNC, we raised and educated him.
Sister has passed away due to a terminal illness. And her husband has filed a maintenance case against the child for an exorbitant amount citing a chronic illness (which for long we know has been cured due to my sister's efforts) and emotional abuse that we advise the child against him.
He is also distributing pamphlets maligning our image, that we are exploiting his child for his earnings, and we have performed black magic to lure his children and cause him illness.
Please advise us, we basically want to shield the child legally and from him. He can even go to the extent of hurting his own child if he feels he cannot control him.

your niece is major so his father cannot take him away without her consent.

Appear in his maintenance case and put whole things before court and court will dismissed his case.

First file case of defamation from your side upon your brother in law.

Second file a criminal complaint from your niece side for threats of killing etc on his father.
