Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

Situation: Its 2AM. I am sleeping with my licensed revolver. Suddenly i hear a noise and with gun in my hand go out of my room. In dark i see an shadow/intruder. I challenge him but he suddenly rushes towards me. I shot at him and he dies. Later on after switching ON lights it was found that he is simple thief without any weapon. Shall i be prosecuted and convicted?
