Legal Question in Criminal Law in India
There is a woman who is married and living in her matrimonial house with her in-laws. She got married 6 months back and but from the 3rd day after her marriage her mother in law has been threatening her to throw her out of the matrimonial house. Is there a law that can protect her? Her mother in law has also been constantly deriding her, talking down, and humiliating her in front of the servants since the last 6 months daily, she has also been threatening to call and complain to this girl's parents. She also wants this girl to ask for permission to even step out of her house, and not work at all. Does this amount to mental harassment?
