Dear Sir / Madam,

You should make up your mind whether you want to continue as an assistant professor, because in the teaching profession, one has to constantly evolve and enhance and upgrade his / her skill sets. An entire batch of students are dependent on your teaching ability and if your not good at the subject, you will be written off in no time. So, if the Principal of the engineering college is asking you to enrol for M.Tech and you wish to continue teaching as an assistant professor, you have no other choice but to enrol for the M.Tech course and upgrade your knowledge and expertise.

The minimum eligibility required to teach is a masters degree, so they may have employed you casually and if you have to continue teaching then you must take up a masters degree.
