Legal Question in Family Law in Bangladesh

I am 22 years old and a medical student. I am Indian by citizeship married to a Bangladeshi .I have a two year old baby boy.I Want to divorse my husband .its a case of domestic violence. I have nobody to help me here.I badly need some good advice.

Thank you for your question. Please contact the local police immediately. You should lodge a GD or FIR against your husband in the police station under the relevant law of Bangladesh.

Assuming you marriage was solemnized under the Islami Shariya law, you can divorce your husband at any time. All you have to do is write a 'Notice of Divorce' to the local chairman. A copy of the notice will be served to your husband. After 90 days from the date of serving notice, your divorce will be effective.
