Legal Question in Family Law in Nigeria

My brother in Law took away their 4 month old baby from his wife, and has rendered himself incommunicado, what are the legal steps to take to

1. Secure custody rights for the mother of the baby?

2. Restrict the father from coming around the baby, thereby granting him supervised visitation rights.

3. Prevent further antagonistic tendencies against the mother by her husband.

A baby of 4 months old is too tender to be in the custody of the father. You can engage the services of a lawyer who will approach a court of competent jurisdiction to pray for custody of the baby. You may not succeed in your second question because as you rightly stated he is the father and a child needs affection from both parties for all round development except you can prove to the court that his being around the baby will be harmful to the baby

To prevent further antagonist tendencies, you can either stay away from him or pray the court for a restraining order. If you need any further assistance or clarification feel free to contact me via email [email protected]
