Legal Question in Family Law in India

My cousin's wife is addicted to alcohol and causing a lot of problems to the husband, kids and in-laws. She is refusing treatment and won't listen to her parents also. Her erratic behavior is proving to be dangerous and affecting my cousin's health as he is fighting a chronic heart problem. If we approach the court for separation, how can we make sure she is not given custody of the kids?
