Who is likely to get the custody of 5 yr 8 months old daughter? The daughter has been living with her mother fro past 1.5 yrs alone, and there is a case filed by mother for divorce?

The court will take a decision after considering all pros and cons about child's welfare. The wishes of the child may also be ascertained. Normallly, the courts permit 'status quo' to continue unless it finds that the custody should be transferred to other spouse in the interest of the child.

generally mother gets custody of such small children but depending on facts of your case and taking into consideration welfare of child the court will decide about custody.
