Legal Question in Family Law in India
Dear Sir/Madam,
I had an arranged marriage in 2011 nov. My inlaws and husband started dominating me since then, They forced me to leave my job which was my financial security, i was not allowed to go out, make calls, even when i talked to my parents someone kept a watch. i was made to work like a servant, all this time my husband worked in another city and came home on weekends, he too never took me out, he never gave me any money for my expenses. since then he gives me little money for my, household and our 1.8 yr old daughters expenses and all the time makes excuses about the EMI's he has to pay, but he gives substantial amount to his mother every month.I am always treated like a servant my daughter is also not given a good life. she is given footpath cheap quality clothes to wear. very rarely her father buys anything for her and me. he earns good about 10-15 LPA but none of this money is for me or our daughter. I am under constant physical, mental, emotional economical abuse by husand and in laws.
kindly advice me what rights i and my daughter have over my husbands salary, property etc. all my gold is in his locker which i have no access to out of which some is missing which he says he gave to his mother without my permission.please do tell me what will comprise of my streedhan.
thanx.

Firstly, a complaint under D.V.Act would be appropriate wherein you can seek maintenance for you and your daughter apart from other relief. In the same, you can claim your jewellery. All the gifts and jewellery you received at the time of marriage or afterwards from family or relatives constitute your stridhan. Your children has property rights if the property is ancestral. Call for detail.
