Dear Sir,

Recently my both Father in law and Mother in law died in an accident. They have 2 daughters (both major). Please let me know as to how to get a legal heir certificate and also is there any law according to which the share in property is automatically decided between the 2 daughters (Hindu Succession Act?)

If the deceased has not left any Will, both the daughter can execute a family partition deed and share the property. For legal heir certificate, you need to apply to Tehsildar of your area.
