Legal Question in Family Law in Pakistan

If defendant denies to receive any Court Notice (Case is for Maintenance and Restoration of Bridal Gifts+Interim Maintenance) and doesn't file any reply within defined time period whats next step of Court. "Notice has been sent via TCS and as per their Record Notice has been received by Defendant"

Then after expiry of defined time period defendant dint filed any reply and court has fixed the date of next hearing What will be the next procedure in Both Circumstances i.e Defendent appears and donot appear ?

if he appeas he will get opportunity to file it in next date, if he did not appear , the process of ex pate decree will be initiated against him.
