Legal Question in Family Law in India

the divorce petition filed has been sent by the court to the respondent by reg.post, courier and through e-mail also. the acknowledgements are not received by the court. The respondent sent a letter to the court by Express post from US mentioning the receipt of the notices and informs the court to proceed further and pass decree of divorce as prayed by the petitioner. The

court observes that whether the letter from the respondent will answer the

point of law in deciding the matter. Please clarify and quote any earlier

cases if possible. PLEASE KEEP THE ID SECRETE

Yes, court may proceed upon such intimation as notice is deemed to have been effected upon the respondent.

In this situation the party in US should higher a lawyer in india so that proper representation can be given and a decree of divorce be granted without prejudice to rights and contentions of the person abroad.
