I am deployed to Kosovo right now, and I recently discovered my husband has been taking money out of my checking account daily and buying marijuana by the ounce. He has also been smoking marijuana around our 1 year old son and not taking proper care of the baby in the process.
Before I left for Kosovo, I gave my mother a Power of Attorney to watch after my son and when I learned of my husbands actions, I told my mother to take our son until I return from Kosovo.
My question is, will a military Power of Attorney stand-up to my husband's parental rights?
My parents have contacted the police and they were told that my husband can be brought-up on charges but I was wondering if my mother will be able to keep my son for the remainder of my 6 months in Kosovo.

If your ex is endangering the health and welfare of the child, your parents should contact the Cabinet for Families and Children (Social Services) and report the issues. If they remove the child, you will be notified and they will likely place the children on a temporary basis with your parents since they are the next closest kin available to take temporary guardianship til you return.
If he is stealing from you, notify the police and file charges.
