Legal Question in Family Law in Trinidad and Tobago

Can I file for a divorce myself without the aid of a lawyer since I can't afford one right now and I don't qualify for legal aid. The marriage has children though.

My Grounds for Divorce:

1. Irreconcible differences

2.Domestic Violence

3.Many breaches of a protection order (now expired) of which one is currently before the court for trial 12/10/2015.

4.Non maintanance of children - Maintance was order by court @ $3200 per month and never paid $57K o/s - 1 commital warrant issued 2nd committal pending 3rd warrant also pending.

5. Violent to children - Incident reported to police 18/6/2014 still under investigation

It is possible to file for a divorce in the family court without a lawyer. However, when there are children involved, it may not be in your family's best interest to do so. You can contact the Family Court (or pay them a visit) and you will get some guidance on the process.
