Legal Question in Family Law in India
My friend is a citizen of Singapore and he has an adult sister about 40 years old in India who is mentally unstable from birth. He visits India about 4 times a year and stays for more than a month and looks after the sister in all respects. His parents passed away recently and he is trying to get his father's pension to help his sister. Since other siblings in India are unwilling to look after her, can he apply for a legal guardianship certificate? What is the procedure for a foreign national to apply for this certificate? Thanks

He may need to apply to the local Guardianship Court for being appointed as her legal guardian.
