Legal Question in Family Law in India

My friend died 4 years back, her husband said it was suicide. But her father had filed case on the son in law, her husband had harassed her many times, that man had 2 kids with another woman at the time of my friends death. He is still on bail.

Now the father is getting old not able to go to courts. Can her father withdraw the case ? Will my friends father get into any trouble? Move over his son in law is asking him to withdraw the case. What to do ???

if FIR has been registered then case can not be withdraw but quashing of said FIR can be filed before High Court
