Legal Question in Family Law in India
Me and my girlfriend are planning to get married legally and not by virtue
As we both reside from different religion (Hindu and Sikh-Punjabi) we have not got our parents consent to go ahead.
We both are eligible in age criteria i.e both are 26 years of age residing in India from birth and we are singles as of now.
My queries are listed below..
1) Which marriage Act will be considered for us if we go ahead with marriage
2) What are the conditions that it needs to be followed - Minimum Time / Cost / Documents
3) Procedure - In Simple words

Your marriage can be registered both under Hindu Marriage Act as well as Special Marriage Act since A sikh is also considered as Hindu under law.
One of you must have a address proof of at least one moth of that place where you want to get married.
Form has to be filled and an affidavit has to be given to marriage registrar.
