Legal Question in Family Law in India

Hi,

I am Hindu & I wanted to marry my mother's sister's daughter. I.e my 1st cousin.

In our community, marriage among children of brother and sister (cross cousin marriage) are valid by custom.

Can we marry under HMA or SMA?

If not, what all other options to get married?

Dear Sir

If the customs so provide then there is no embargo in consummating marriage, even if the same falls within the degree of prohibited relationship. You can marry her, subject to customs, under HMA
