Legal Question in Family Law in India

Hi,

My sister is been harassed with her husband from past 5 yrs. He is been harassing her with vulgar language and physically and mentally. even her sister in laws. Many times both families discussed with well wishers, but issue is not at resolved. He always suspects her and uses vulgar language and beats her physically. He sits at home idle with out any work till now. Everyday he used to take alcohol. Could you please suggest me, how to protect my sister and is it OK if I put Gruha himsa (498) case on him. Is there any case which can punish him for his activities. He is 100% not an innocent. He should be punished. Many things he has done with my sister.

Please advise me.
