Legal Question in Family Law in India

I am a hindu widower & want to mary a hindu widow with a 5 yr old girl child. She is studying in 1 std with her biological fathers name.We wish to change fathers name & surname of the child accordingly. What is the process ?

Firstly, the new father has to formally adopt your daughter by executing an adoption deed. Subsequently, on the basis of that, you can change her surname.
