Legal Question in Family Law in India
My husband had filed for divorce in USA without my knowledge and had sent summons to a wrong address leaving no scope for me to contest within 3 months.I am in India since 2012 and now he filed for divorce.he abused me physically to death and took me to emergency hospital and i was threatened not to tell the fact in hospital.i got medical records with me and i tired calling 911 too on the day he hurted me but he did nt allow me to tell the truth to them either.please suggest what action needs to be taken immediately as i can not afford contesting in USA but can not allow him take divorce from me and spoil someother girl's life too.

Dear client send reply to u s court by denying all his allegations. Also file maintenance case here in India and send summons to husband to u s. If after service of summons if he failed to appear in court then court will send warrant to him. For proper discussion call me

even if he obtains divorce in US, it is not valid in India. you can file cases in india viz. domestic violence, 498a, maintenance etc but before that try to settle the matter by intervention of elders of both the families.
