Legal Question in Family Law in India
My husband had filed a petition for divorce in India (Chennai) in 2008. THe same was contested by me and our marriage was not dissolved. Now, he had appealed to the high court in India (Chennai), the same of which is still pending and active. Simultaneously, he had filed a fresh case for divorce in a court in California. I want to know whether the case in California could be put on hold or dismissed completely stating that a case of similar nature is still in progress in the hometown. If so, what is the procedure to do so?
