Legal Question in Family Law in Pakistan
My husband recently divorced me by giving the three divorces together via a divorce deed, the copy of which was deposited at the union council. They are not returning my dowry and threatening to file an FIR against me for keeping the gifts and gold they presented me on the marriage. Is there a possibility for me to get my dowry back legally and how much time does it take. I do not want to return the gifts neither do i want them to return the gifts we gave them.

You can get the dowry articles by filing a case for recovery of dowry articles, and if he has not paid you dower amount and maintenance you can also recover that. The time it will take minimum 4 months but it can be more or less. As far as gifts are concerned court may order for their return but then your ex-husband would have to return as well.

you are fully entitled to claim your dowry articles and bridal gifts back. as per policy it takes 6 month provided no legal controversy leads the case into prolonged phase.
