Legal Question in Family Law in India

My husband who was suffering from anxiety problem used to torture me mentally most of the times and sometimes physical torture too.... He and his mother used to demand dowry from me.... After all these, when I finally decided to register a complaint and apply for divorce he came to know that and he ran away to Canada.... So I don't know how to proceed.
