I live in dubai on employment residence visa with my 3 year old son. my husband is in india. i want to file a divorce. can i file from here as i dont want to go there because of fear he might take my son away from me. so can i file from here or do i have to go for filing. do i have to visit on every hearing date or i can authorize someone on my behalf

you can file the divorce petition in India even if you are in Dubai. You may have to retain a lawyer here and he would prepare the documents fit to be notarized there in Dubai. You may not have to visit in courts as the provision of video conferencing is available.
