yes you can get permanent alimony or you can opt for monthly maintenance under section 25 of Hindu marriage act and there are similar provisions under other laws if you are not a hindu. Further you can negotiate with you husband for payment of lumpsum amount or monthly maintenance if at all he wants a divorce. Further only because you are salaried it does not mean you will not get maintenance, if the salary which you are earning is insufficient for you to maintain yourself and your child in the standard of living which your husband is enjoying then you are entitled for maintenance. Further both have equal responsibility towards child hence he has to pay the maintenance to child at least, further the salary which you are earning is insufficient to maintain yourself then even you will be entitled for maintenance.
