im married since 2 years and have a 7 month old baby. i stay in a joint family with my husband, bro-in-law, his wife, kids, parents-in-law and an unmarried elderly sister-in-law. Mother in law and sister in law are quite terrible and mentally haraass me a lot, they dont look well after my son too while im away at work. i earn more than my husband and have a stable family background from my parents side as well. if i decide to leave my inlaws house, can they stop my son back? they will do it to make me suffer.. my son is dependent on me as hes very young, can i get police help to take him with me if they try this? also in the event of a future separation what are the chances of my getting custody for my son?

They may stop your son back but you have the right to take your son along. You could call 103 for police assistance if there is a problem. Also ensure that all your documents and other belongings are safe in your custody if you decide to leave.
u r the legal guardian of ur child, if ur in laws harassing u u can file application under domestic violence Act & can claim custody rights as well.
