Legal Question in Family Law in India

I have been married for 10 years and have a 6 year old girl child. This was my husband's second marriage and the first for me. Now I wish to seek divorce from him on the grounds of cruelty which I do not wish to elaborate here. When we got the marriage registered, my husband refused to furnish the details of the previous one in the application. So is this marriage registration valid at all?
