Legal Question in Family Law in India

I was going for a mutual arranged marriage and both families consent to it. We got engaged recently and she signed the documents to get our marriage registered. Then suddenly she left her home and got married to one of her friends. Can I take any legal action for the mental harassment and cheating?

The intending litigation will further multiply your sufferings, besides wastage of time and money. On the basis of facts mentioned in your question, a case of harassment may not be made; but if she or her family has taken any money or valuable from you, a case of cheating may be considered. You may also seek recovery of any expenses incurred on her or her family or the valuables given to them on any ceremony, etc..
