can a passport be denied because a divorce petition is pending before the court?

The two actions are not inter connected. Passport is to be issued by the Ministry of External Affairs. The divorce petition is to be decided by a court of law. The two authorities have no connection with each other.

in a civil case, the court can not pass restraint orders to impound the passport.

no court can not impound the passport & even u can contest through attorney.
