Respected Sir/Madam,

Sir/Madam my maternal aunt is a divorced woman having one daughter. In 2010 one GR has come which state that a divorced woman can apply her maiden surname to his children. Now her daughter is having her mother name behind her. But on applying for caste certificate for her daughter the authorities are saying that her caste will be according to her father's caste. Is there any GR that her daughter can have her mother caste on her caste certificate. My aunt has been divorced for than 15 yrs. Please help us on this as early as possible.

file a RTI before the authority and ask them under what law they can deny the daughter the caste of the mother.
