Legal Question in Family Law in Pakistan

Salam... I hope you'll be doing fine... I am very much confused in an important thing.

I have sent a first divorce notice to my wife on a certain date in December 2015 and mentioned in it that I will send another at a certain date in Jan 2016.... Now i have read somewhere that in Islam, that only ONE (1) divorce is needed and after three months (Iddat Period) both become separate and can marry other persons... So, if I do not send second notice on 8th Jan, what will happen?? Will she remain my wife for ever in law or after three months she will be considered divorced and iddat will be considered as ended??

A lawyer friend of mine said that 3 time divorce is must and unless I send it 3 times, she will remain my wife forever in Law and Islam both and cannot be considered divorced unless I send all 3, no matter if I send it ONE (1) time Two (2) time...

Kindly clarify please. I'll be very much thankful to you.

There's no need to send other two divorces, she would be considered divorcee after the expiry of her iddat period..

No need for that, but you will have to apply in arbitration council to obtain divorce effective certificate.
