Legal Question in Family Law in United Arab Emirates
Salam, I m an Indian Muslim, my wife is also an Indian Muslim, we have been married since 8 years, have one baby girl 7 years old, since past two years i m trying to resolve the issues (Not listing me at all, not respecting my parents, not able to take care of our baby girl, we don't have feelings for each other) between both of us..now it went beyond my limits..i discussed 3-4 times with my father in law and every time he promised me that within few months everything will be alright..last time when i discussed he told me if nothing goes on positive side after 4-5 months than we will get divorce. now i contacted my father in law by sms but till now i didnt get any proper reply, after few days i came to know from my wife that we should take divorce by mutually...how should i file divorce case ? what are the formalities..? how long time it takes to get divorce and who will get custody of baby..? do i need to pay anything to her to get divorce ? i already paid her mehar at the time of marriage in cash (courtesy: my marriage cd). please advise ..thanks

Hi, Your mail does not mention whether you and your Wife are presently residing at UAE, as the Court process is quite faster over here compared to the Courts in India. So on your informing the same, only then you can be advised suitably in the matter. Also note to inform whether your Wife is also willing for Divorce and whether she has any demands including Custody of the Child.
