Legal Question in Family Law in India

Sir,

I got married on 14th July'13. after 10 days of Marriage my Husband & Mother in Law always asked me for dowry, demand for my full salary, don't give me money for different expenses. My husband started using Abusing words. after a months I got to know that the boy drink on daily basis & always use abusing words & sometimes he beat me. After knowing the fact my father came to bring me to our home. also at that time they makes lot of drama, used abusing words etc. so that my brother called on 100 number & after that Police came & controlled the situation.

Now after lot of discussions with there family members they don't ready to take me back at home that's why we have filed a complained in women cell, up to 3 hearing of women cell the Lady SHO was with us after knowing that fact. but after that in 4th hearing she suddenly speaking in favor of them & offering us 3 Lacs & Gifts, Furniture & other Dowry Samaan. But we already have told them that we have incurred more then 9 lacs on marriage for which we have shown them the List of Expenses. Now she is asking that if you are not accepting the offer of 3 Lacs then you can go to Court & from there you can take your money back.

Please suggest me the most suited way because my family is not in the position to handle the Dates of court. My father has already spent his retirement money on my Marriage.

mamta please do not settle the matter in a hurry.If you dont have money for a lawyer the legal aid services will provide you with one. where are you based?? you can file a case for domestic violence and also seek maintainance from your husband. for further details contact 9312411481.

dear client u can file police complaint under sec 498-a for dowry harassment against husband and his relatives. as well as u can file domestic violence case also for mental torture. for any legal help call me on 9422611385

U may file cases free of cost with the help of legal aid.

But think twice about your future also. Can your father is in a situation to remarry you?

Is it so easy for you to remarry and settle with someone else.

Think what you want exactly then i will guide you the right way out and how to achieve your goal

It is up to you to accept the amount of 3 lac and gift items or further negotiate so that u get a better deal. If u feel amount is less than your expectations, you can resort to the court cases.
