Legal Question in Family Law in
Sir,
Mangalsutra is considered as symbol of marriage & ladies wear this when they are married. If divorce is there, & marraige is broken then our society does not allow her to use the Mangalsutra. Rather the lady will not like to use the same Mangalsutra. If the lady thinks it as ornament then is not insult to our tradition & holyness of marraige. So as such it should be returned to those who has purchased in the case of divorce. This is natural justice.
But we are told that the law says that whatever may be the case the mangalsutra is considered as Streedahn. Is it not against natural justice if Mangal sutra is considered in case of divorce if the mangalsutra purchsaed by father-in-laws?

I have no dispute with the legal proposition that a Mangalsutra is part of ISTRDHAN of the woman and she cannot be deprived of the same merely because it was purchased by her father-in-law.
