Legal Question in Family Law in India

My sister got married in may 2014. After 6 months she came to know that her husband is having an extra marital affair with a neighbor girl. When she opposed him, he never listened to her.
Sometimes he bits her also. He and his family members continuously giving threat to sister to break the marriage.
Recently i came to know the matter and i had a bitter arguments (including abusive words) with her in-lows sister.after that incidence they are continuously abusing me, my brother and my sister. They are treating my sister as servent, torturing her mentally and sometimes quite physically. We don't want to break the marriage. But we want to give them( her husband, in-law parents and sister) a fair lesson to remember in entire life.
1.What legal actions we can take?
2. Can any legal action be taken without their notice??(as we don't want to break marriage)
3. What she can do in her marital house to be safe?

File complaint of harassment u/s 498a and domestic violence act. your sister can file case of adultery against her husband but you have to proof the relation of her husband with that girl.
