Legal Question in Family Law in
My sister is married to a software engineer for more than 8 years and has a daughter aged 3 years. Since a couple of years my Brother in law is moving around with different girls and has been coming home very late (midnights). He says that he does not like my sister any more and wants to live separately. What is the compensation my sister would get if she signs the divorce papers? Is there a chance for my brother in law to engage a better lawyer and try for a meager compensation to my sister? How is the law treating infidelity? What proof does it need to show that my brother in law is sleeping with women outside? Kindly give me a comprehensive reply Sir

sir, adultery is the most difficult thing to prove in the present system. to begin with your sister needs to file case against your husband and the girls he is sleeping with. Girl has to be party in suit for the divorce. ofcourse, she would be entitled to alimony based on the status they enjoyed before seperation and income of the husband. She may get compensation under the Domestic Violence Act by making a complaint to the Protection Officer who is a woman attached to the police station of the area where your sister resides.
