Legal Question in Family Law in India

My wife has filed a maintenance petition for the son against me in family court and I've filed a custody petition for my son in the same court.

2 years back, family court has passed the order in my favor that above 2 cases are clearly separate from each other and to be heared independantly.

But now new judge has verbally told to combine both the cases to spped up the proceeding.

In fact no body has formally applied to combine as such.

Is this a legally valid ?

Yes, its legally valid and judge has discretion to do that. Your interest will not suffer due that reason.
