Legal Question in Family Law in Lebanon

My wife and I married in a Chicago court in 1993. We then got married in an Islamic court in Lebanon a few years later. We are in the process of getting a divorce in the Islamic court. What do we do in this case about ending the civil marriage in the U.S.? mind you, that we both signed an agreement before we filed for divorce in Lebanon, and we have no conflicts about anything. Can we in this case translate, both the agreement and the divorce once finalized and send them to the U.S. as a basis to acknowledge our divorce? does it work this way? if yes, where do we send such translation to? many thanks
