Legal Question in Federal Tort Claims in India
My father is 86+ years old, and we are two brothers and two sisters, all of whom are married and living in the metro cities of Mumbai and Bangalore. Our parents reside in Mau, Uttar Pradesh. I am the eldest son, and my brother and I take care of our parents. For the past two years, we have noticed that my father is heavily influenced by our younger sister, and under this influence, they are planning to sell our ancestor property. Our neighbors are also influencing this decision. We are extremely troubled because there is no valid reason for selling the property, and there is no shortage of anything in our household. Please advise me on what I should do to prevent the sale. The problem is that I am in Bangalore and cannot take a long leave as there is a lot of work in the office. Additionally, my father's age being over 86 adds to the vulnerability of being influenced by others.

you may simply file a suit for partition and also seek stay against the property so that third party interest is not created. As this is a civil suit, your presence all the way from Bangalore is not required. The documents duly notarized can also be accepted by courts in Mau. This seems to be the most effective way to save your ancestral property.
