How to get legal heir certificate?

we(myself and my son) are residing in NR Colony, Bangalore-28, my husband passed away 3 month back,

For this particular area where to apply for legal heir certificate?

and what are the procedures and documents need?

legal heir certificate or succession certificate can be applied before the administrative civil judge in the district court. It has to be in respect of securities/fixed deposit / pf / insurance etc left by the deceased. All those who are legal heirs of the deceased have to apply collectively. One person may also apply but then the others will have to give No objection for grant of certificate in favour of one person. You need to show ownership of these securities, fixed deposit etc for which you need the L Heir certificate
