Legal Question in Civil Litigation in India
Respected Sir, Madam, what is the time limit for the sisters in a family to file a suit against the purchaser of their property? A property was purchased and the entire amount settled at the time of the registration to the family. Now after 15 yrs the sisters of the house are filing a suit against the purchaser, saying that they have not received their share. Is this suit valid? How can the purchaser be held responsible if the mother and the sons did not share the money with the sisters? Kindly advice

There is no time limit as such. It must be within a reasonable time after she came to know of that. Purchaser should not worry. The sale deed will not be cancelled by court so early and easily. At the best the court may direct the seller to part ways with the proceeds of sale to other legal heirs as well.
